Re: ZZone Hacked

Sorry to hear about the hacking incident! You did an excellent job at restoring the site, though. Was it not for your announcement, i doubt i would have noticed that anything was amiss.

It's not bad, but i just can't think of a reason to play it over Z.

I'm afraid i have nothing to contribute to this thread, but i simply must know which game your avatar is from, Adivce 200. It rings a bell, but i can't place it!

(Just to add a possibly easier alternative to lil'T's excellent guide)

If you are using the DFendfront end, you don't need the mount command, nor do you need to make an ISO. Just copy the cd into a folder and mount it as a cd drive, using the profile set-up wizard DFend provides.

Good to hear they've been dealt with. Letting discipline run low will never do! :lazy:

One possible easy fix: 1. Open Z.Bat 2. You should see something like this: @ZED.EXE /CD:D /yesuv %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 Now change the D into whatever your CD Drive is. (The following applies only if you are using DOSBox) 3. Open the config file 4. Search for [autoexec] 5. Add mount D "D:\" -t cdrom -label...

I'm back with a working Z installation and a new video .
This time it is the Overall outro . (Thanks to Raven for providing the save!)
Filesize is around 60MB and it is encoded with xvid, as usual.

Edit: I added the credits as well. Find them in the first post.

Cool stuff! I like the new layout!

I had to mourn the death of my harddrive a while back and lost (among others) my Z saves. This makes recording a lot more time intensive, as i have to actually complete each level.
But the other videos will come, just slower. :)

Thanks for the kind words guys! I've added the Intro to Divx is a commercial product and i don't feel like shelling out money, if i can encode my movies for free with xvid. Heyyy, that's strange! With VirtualDub, you get a free DivX encoder (and many other encoders, too), but VD doesn't cost a penn...

Hey Loknar When you capture the videos, what video files are they saved as and how big are they before you encode them? Do you keep the original file? They are saved as uncompressed avi. The overall intro is <300MB umcompressed and the intro and extros to the levels are around 100MB. Perhaps you ha...

Thanks for the kind words guys! I've added the Intro to Level 3. As long as nobody complains, about speed i'll be happy to keep hosting the videos. Webspace is not a problem. I'm thrilled about what suprise you are holding in stock for us, Zod! Lumina: If you know a better xvid codec, please share y...

World Cup

The biggest sport event in the world has been unleashed.
I wonder if any other Z generals have neglected their warmongering in favour of watching soccer.
If so, which teams are you rooting for?

"White edition" is a budget brand, i believe. Classic games getting re-released for an affortable price. The game itself is left untouched, but "white edition" games usually don't ship with a printed copy of the original manual. I think i have Incewind Dale as "White Edition", but can't check that f...
