I made a little progress
I successfully made, imported, animated a "with bone animated cube" in unity

with its succes i moved on making the skeleton (as shown in the image) for the robots
ps: proportions are still subject to change

Speaking of robots, I'll have to get on designing a robot model next, so the Jeep can have a driver on the seat.

im aiming for a low poly version of the bodies used by allan and brad
with the distinctive corset the large belly buckle and somewhat rectangular extruded breast plates

later on ill be reviewing fan made content and see if the owners like these to be added

this model might look crude but it will be seen from a larger distance

about the jeep
that's a good side view

one small modification
the gun will need a hinge / handle within the drivers range to operate it without having to leave its driving seat

the original game .. afterall had 1 robot per vehicle

raising one arm to aim it and fire

It's shaping out nicely.

For the Jeep, let's add a joystick trigger for controlling the gun. Conventionally, a second robot could use the gun manually from the back, although with limited turning radius.

2 robots in 1 jeep is a problem

in the original game it took 1 robot to capture it
it be weird magic if 1 robot caps a jeep and 2 are visible sitting in it

I'll be taking a few creative liberties from the original in my Z reboot, introducing such things as multi-crewed vehicles, air and sea units, and a bit of weapon customization.

The Jeep's incarnation from Steel Soldiers comes as the Gun Jeep, with better crew protection and ability to mount different weapons.

yea its being worked on at half a man power

its that just copying the game mode is a bit dull on the long run
it be nice if it gets a bit more debt
so im looking at a combo between

Z the original game
adventure modes like diablo but in a Z coat
materials professions politics like eve online
mby even covert missions and black markets to gain special items

atm working on the map (making / reading) part
it be divided into

the visual part:
tile image << like the original game
local shader effects << light glows (medium light glow image highlighting light sources)
global shader effect << shadows (a big shadow image spread out over the whole map)

the statistic part:
tile info << can i stand here?, can i drive here?, how fast can i go?, where is the closest road?, etc
local info << vector borders, where is the closest road?, etc
map info << objectives, map dimentions, god knows what

its posible ill change the layout of this later on when im hitting snags

another thing im braking my head over is the aimbot
ill need this formula to have L.O.B units shooting at NOT the target, but where the target is expected to be when the shell impacts
that means taking into acount the curve of the projectile

dont expect miracles, once the first thing comes out it be fugly and bugy
and ill need a place where i can dump the files for ppl to download
it be ofc free as Z is a licensed theme
i might have to contact them before i can even do that :x
