I started doing sketches of what the vehicles would look like in my version of Z.

I like the jeep
I'm still looking over on how to make it a 1 man vehicle

*edit*
I wouldn't build these, for 1 they have to many wheels
wheels means more geometric detail, means more gpu intensive scenes
but
i do like your color sceme
white wheels green and redish brown

What do you mean? The Jeep was a one man vehicle in Z.

Tanks on the other hand, though. A modern MBT requires at least 3 crew members to work, but the robots in Z can somehow drive a tank, fire its main gun, and fire a rifle from the top hatch simultaneously. I wonder how this could be handled in the Z reboot (Side note: I'm a bit obsessed with realism).

One speculation however, maybe the vehicles in Z are just equipped with advanced autopilots that perform different actions of the vehicle depending on which team has control of it, and the guns most likely have autoloaders. This raises the question however, why don't they just built internal AI into the vehicles, instead of having an external robot drive it, who can get shot out of the vehicle?

More on my drawings, they're based on pictures of real vehicles, and I will later try Z-fying them more, eg making them look more unique some way, just so they won't look like carbon copies of the real ones.

with 1 man jeep
the robot needs to visually drive it and man the gun when needed

as for tanks driven by 1 robot
a usb slot turning the tank into their body is one way
another thing is that robots are rly quick

Maybe gun is automated too, or Jeep's dashboard has a joystick for controlling it.

What do you think the device on top of the APC is meant to be? A rangefinder?

I like the idea of a turret. Would also explain how the robots can fire in a 360 arc, despite the firing ports being on the sides of the vehicle.

At last, I got back to doing more concept art for my Z remake.

For starters, here's a digital redux of the tanks.

im looking into the unity development ide
since I have little confidence in the performance of the software im using now
witch tends to be slow

and I want allot of robots, tank and whatevers on the screen at the same time and not allow the users to grab a cup of coffy between every shot fired out of the gateling gun

that doesn't mean the current development tool is totally obsolete
it can still be used for a little Z adventure game where you get a few robots and 1 or 2 tanks and head out facing challenges .. a bit like *diablo 3* but with less mobs and less blood and less demons.. no demons

well the things I found so far

model support
scrolling shader support (for tracks)
network support (for later)
a build in navigation / path finder class (but still might want to use my own )
bones player (for animations witch is lacking in the development tool im working now on, that only suports key frame animations)
editable hud overlay image for selection box

and tutorials for almost everything!!!!!

things i havent looked up yet
sounds like voices and music
and all the things i havent come up with yet
