Hi! I didnt here for a while, I see interesting changes :). Thanks, not exactly what I thought, but its maybe even better.

> Why you can not just lower display resolution and run the game in windowed mode?
Because it will make exactly the same - pixels (on LCD) are fixed in size, so when you rescale quality is worser.

>Even if the game was enable to support 1280x960 mode it wouldn't make things on the screen bigger in the windowed mode.
thats why I ask about doubling pixels, not screen size :). You know - 640x480 x 2 - it will make things bigger - bit more blocky, but without distortion. But what you made is cool, thanks!

It means that WinZ.exe file you have is of other version than patch was expecting. So you can fix this problem by installing Z Expansion Kit from here

Can someone re-upload the latest Meeky's WinZMod.exe somewhere cause rapidshare doesn't allow more than 10 downloads for unprivileged uploads.

When i run WinZMod.exe /? from console session your app opens another console window. This is wrong. Also i suggest opening simple popup window instead of printing text to stdout. Anyway, this is very great to play 1024x screen still it did not help me to win :D I'm too slow, damn...

Thanks for the suggestions! :D
Try to use /dos command line parameter - the game is more balanced in that mode.
Also don't forget to set up LOW game speed for greater game experience!

Is it possible to make more game speed settings, i.e. introduce a trackbar replacing radio buttons? Slow speed setting results in too slow speed which makes me sleepy, while normal speed is hard to play for me. Thank you!

Meeky, after trying to re-start the match (ctrl+R) the game crashed and I was kicked back to the desktop. Kinda minor 'coz I can always just quit the game and restart it through main menu, but still worth checking out I'd say.

Good job on it btw!

Hi, MaDDoX!
I've noticed the problem myself earlier, but as you say it's a minor bug. At the moment I'm busy with writing Z remake in XNA with help of IceCream 2D Engine. In general it will be a clone of Z, but with enhanced graphic and gameplay. So wait unitl then!

Hi again,

I introduced myself in the "forum improvement/issuse" section already.

I´ve tryied to get my version of Z to work (have a old big carbon boxed (EVERYTHING IN MINT  condition [even the little note stating that the face of a machine gun robot should be a different kind, not a Grunts], as I seriously love this game, version is EU bought if it has any difference), but alas, it says it isn´t competible with this OS when I try to install the game from CD.

I installed some version from this forum, think it was this ver. 1,7. But I only got to the menus, and I couldn´t get any manues to show, they where all black, and in spanish(95% sure of that). It did pop up errors alot of times, before I somehow got into to game after multiple tryies from different .exes etc.

What I am saying, if it wouldn´t be too much trouble, is to get a step by step walkthrough how to get Z to work on my Vista 64bit..

I dunno, but if it would be possible to play it from my very own CD (sentimental fool as I am, even made a backup cd  ), u would make me one happy General!

THANKS!

Again, LOVE this forum, and can´t believe it exists!

joker wrote:Hi Meeky, any chance you change your patch so that the registry keys are written/read in HKCU instead of HKLM?
I think it should be possible for you to redirect the registry access.
That patch would also require writing new installer for the game. I'm currently busy with Z clone project, so I have no spare time for that kind of undertaking, sorry.
