Not able to follow Z98's footsteps

Post by Snoopy » 2005-06-24, 22:22

Hi again,
I just checked back here and see that what I expected very early after the Z:SS release has unfortunately come true. It was not able to follow Z95's footsteps really. I mean it's nice if your PC handles it - but different.

Anyways, I really appreciate that you keep that site up since 1997 now and support all the Z fans. Good job!

It is indeed.

George has done a quite brilliant job, and the contributors, Beserker, Kissmad et al have done great too. And as the song says - "They've only just begun!"

Also the artwork, like on the box is very crappy.
It doesn't look good, and it's not in Z style.

I didn't mine the artwork and the packaging in a DVD case was an excellent idea. All software companies should do that instead of using the big boxes.

It just doesnt play like Z, theyve removed the Facial Talkback from the Units and the actaul usefulness of taking points on the map by implementing Generals style construction mech thingy. Its just not Z anymore.

yeah is wasn?t z, it was an standard realtime strategie game like any other.
in the original z, every second counted. in z2 you had the possibility to go to the bathroom while playing.

Yep that's true, in Z1 you had to keep an eye on your units all the time.

Z-ss is very good game and I think you have wrong, nice 3d engine with very realistic real time combat "Zod is not dead baby" Z and Z-ss for ever.
