This is how I got Z (not z95) to work on XP

Post any issues here having to do with playing, installating or configuration of the game.

Eeep. THAT sounds like hard work!!! XD

Ah well, it seems Z shall have to wait till someone can develop something :(
I'm afraid the server z game 2 is full. However, I have set up two more:-

For Z95 players ONLY!!!, use:
Name: Z95!
Password: Tom
For DOSBox-Z players ONLY!!!, use:
Name: DOSBox-Z!
Password: Tom
Have fun!

I wonder if it has something to do with your CD drives having the letters Y and Z

I was thinking that. Sadly, I'm on my dad's computer, and I don't know if he will allow me (he's a techie sorta person - he understands computers a lot better then me!) Maybe I'll ask him... see what he has to say. If not, then I'll wait till I get my own domputer ;)

Hopefully he will let you try. Even if you promise to change the letters back again. :)

He says ok. Yey ^_^

Ok... what do you recommend as a letter? C, D, E, F, G and H are already taken, plus I think I + J are USB ports.

And how do I change it? :S

You need to be logged in as admin to change the cd letters. Change it to the next available letters.

Give me a couple of minutes to remember how to change the letters.

Ok.... here we go... I found something. It worked. I mounted Y, instead of the E, and it loaded!!!

However, it said something about Commander Zod shooting pirates at Dawn... not another puzzle to solve :(

EDIT: It works! Yeehaw! Finally! :D

Yey. thanks for the help :)

You were right - it was 'mount Y C:\Z\CD.

Well, that's it - it works (although the music doesn't play, but meh)

Next stop - multiplayer ;)

Sound works as well, yey!

In reply to Cherockee - I'm sure the first post from KISSMAD will work ok (though a bit of editing for cases like mine)

Refined Guide (from KISSMAD)

Post by The_Drummer » 2006-06-04, 21:38

KISSMAD, do you mind if I rewrite your guide? Just to clear up with the problem I had? Or you could just do it ;) However, it's ok with me if you don't mind me rewriting it.

I will give full credit to you and the people who helped you.

What would you change? I can edit my original post to make the changes. I'll add about the mount problem but is there anything else?
