Z 2player game over Directserial

Post by gluglu81 » 2009-10-26, 18:27

Hey Folks,

Now I have also Z fever  (I got original CD of the game :D ) sorry 4 bad english

I play it on my 3.2GHz System with Windows XP and use the DosBox 0.73 --> works with sound and video
I also got a 500MHz P3 with Wondwos 2k, same DosBox Version --> also works fine (without sound, but didnt necessary)

VERY NICE: CD IS NO LONGER NECESSARY WITH THE DOSBOX
dont tell this to others :idiot:

Now I try to make a Multiplayer Connection...
I dont know why, but with IPX Server over WLan its not possible.
--> So i tried directlink connection, but also not work :(

Here a printscreen of the DosBox Window:

gluglu81, I guess, there are no much Z-fans left, that still play DOS version for several reasons:
1) In 1988 BB have released Zed Expansion Kit, which present much more levels to play
2) No bug patches exist for DOS version.
So you can switch to Windows version (link to download is here), install Antares patch or my HiScreen mod (which already includes Antares patch v.1.7 beta 3) on it and then play over TCP/IP.
WinZMod - mod for playing Z with high screen resolution
ZEdMod - ZEditor mod allowing to edit single player levels
ZGFX - Utility for extracting Z graphic
ZStats - Small utility for fine-tuning unit statistics
Z-Remake - XNA project on 2D IceCream Engine

Hi Meeky,

thanks for your comment.
you are right, nobody play the old DOS Version... just me...
I now also download the Z95 version an wil try it.
But I guess that my problem is a setting in the Dosbox.conf not from the game?!

just a little update:
I can now play Z (DOS) over LAN by using IPX from the DosBox, but it only wirks when we are connected to the same Router (no WLAN connection allowed.)

Some one knows whats wrong in my Dosbox.config that I am not able to get direct.serial connection?
