Wow, for the first time I see this thread. I started to deal with the sprites, as is their already ripped. I can see that the program written in BASIC, but where you can download it?

Well, the sprites are the most valuable game asset and they shouldn't be used only as somebody's avatar.
In the game there are over 7000 sprites and that's astonishing number! But with the help of internal knowledge of the game which I gained while reverse engineering the game, we could use them in Z-remake.
Let's have a look at medium tank. It has images for hull, tower, turret and hatch for every 8 possible directions, with the exeption for the hull - for each direction there are 3 images to animate tracks movement.
So combining those parts we get what we used to see:

WinZMod - mod for playing Z with high screen resolution
ZEdMod - ZEditor mod allowing to edit single player levels
ZGFX - Utility for extracting Z graphic
ZStats - Small utility for fine-tuning unit statistics
Z-Remake - XNA project on 2D IceCream Engine
