Here is some basic cannon placement, I have decided to force it to stick to the grid. It is my intention to do all the building and construction related stuff and then a bunch of misc things for a good well rounded playable update.

Now unit limits and cannons per zone limits are installed, so all the major elements of unit production are done. Now I am going to work on a list of misc stuff and bug fixes.

everything works fine so far.
one tiny thing about mechanics: when holding shift or strg + left mouse one should be able to add units to your selection.

'm gonna make a bunch of commentated multiplayer match videos about this as soon as it's 1.0 or as soon as you give me permission. Seeing this evolve is both awesome and surreal^^ (played the goddamn demo when i was 7 years old)

I dunno man you should probably wait until it is played regularly. Sadly I need to take a little time off to settle some website bull shit because the server I was running my main website can't take the heat anymore. So I need to spread out all my project websites across sourceforge instead of just hosting them myself. The last project I worked on, Project Diaspora, is really fucked up - there are a lot of people who follow this game just to try and destroy it so they DOS attack my website. I fucking hate people who define their existence by attacking anyone and anything worth anything.

Hi Freaknigh ,

It s little time , I haven't post there , but I always follow your good works closely , I haven't sayd it before , but Congratulations !

I really hate theses black hat too who don't know what to do , and attack only for fun or for steal people cpu power ... Few month ago some black hat attack Tor project , when I heard that , It also piss me off , now attack again other open source project ... It's sound like the beginning of struggle between black hat and white hat ...

Anyway , I have a home server , if you need space to store any of your file securely , let me know ..

Will show open source community is stronger than they think .. :)

I have an idea for troop movements. Short of an algorithm here is the easiest solution I thought of.
Edit Map Editor to give terrain different values.
0 - Impassable
1 - Impassable without explosives
2 - Ground unit speed * 0.8
3 - Road unit speed * 1.0
4 - Water unit speed * 0.6
5 - Swamp unit speed * 0.6, 5% chance of being eaten by crocodile

Then do calculations like
start X.Y -> finish X.Y distance / distance that an be travelled on road and distance that can be travelled on ground or through water take the shortest number and thats the route.

eg. Tanks would very much rather take the road because of their already slow speed they would get there faster on the road.
and even though water is much slower it may be faster then going all the way around.

I do some programming but I am just learning C++, The most advanced program I made is I can find the x.xxx ^ y.yyy to 16 digits like 3.450 ^ 4.025. and command line only.

I tried compiling The source code with DEV-C++ and I get 23 errors any tips here? do I have to move the .h files to include (I don't think thats it) I've downloaded SDL 1.2 sources and placed them in include and in the zod source folder (cover my bases) I would like to attempt to help but without being able to compile the source I'll be no use :P

Here is my compile error list:
Compiler: Default compiler

Hey Pestario =)

Yup that is pretty much exactly it. I plan on atleast starting with an A-Star pathfinding algorithm when I get to that which will be the next major thing I am going to do. Also there is a tile editor where you can set the attributes of all of the tiles like passable etc. Right now I want to do some more clean up, and get a lot of the sound effects in so people will actually play with the sound on. I do want to apologize though, I uploaded the dedicated server to my linux machine and i did not standardize the packet structures, so the linux machine formatted them differently then windows did so in order to fix it I had to break my previous windows update. So please let me fix a few more things and i'll upload another update soon that works correctly with the public server.

And ya the instant compile kit is alittle outdated sorry about that, it needs to have the sdl_mixer library installed now too.

Here is a version of the game that will properly communicate with the public game server -

https://sourceforge.net/projects/zod/fi ... p/download

I also put in proper building health and some small bug fixes.

For now the game will end if only one team has units. I need to put in the fort condition now as well since we are getting onto building destruction which is my immediate next thing to wrap up.
