Starcraft, anyone?

Post by Lazy123 » 2007-05-20, 18:06

Anyone here still play SC or BW?

Would play it online more but too many Swedes and Koreans who are too good. :|

Spose quite a different cup of tea compared to Z with more focus on micromanagement and the first 5 minuites of play which can decide if you win or lose.

It's not bad, but i just can't think of a reason to play it over Z.

They've announced Starcraft 2. I think it will be cool, but after every RTS I play, I realize there really is no game that's even half like to Z, gameplaywise...

...so I never think of playing an RTS over Z, rather beside it.

You two saying there is no game like Z are fanatics man.

If I had to choose between the two I would choose SC def. Much more user friendly too since it works for XP outta the box and user made maps and the such are much more widespread, all nearly 10 years ago. Oh and battlenet if you like noob bashing or getting bashed.

Though on behalf on Z, it is a special game and one of the few games I play nowadays (havent played SC for a while) tho it is still very buggy and I believe its impossible to play team play?

No mention of Company Of Heroes here, which I played a while back. Its ideas are very similar to Z (yet I see no credits to Z) as in its territory based. Only thing, its based on WW2 - No rude robots on Special Brew to be seen. :(

P.S. SC2 to me is gonna be a disappointment. Been so long since SC1.

We could have a match of SC some time Lazy123 =) I'm not pro enough to play on battle.net on 1v1, but I'm not a total noob either!

I just hope thay won't ruin SC2 by giving -too-many abilities to units. I already seriously dislike the idea how many units can scale cliffs and how easy Siege Tanks are to counter with these new Immortals. And the suicide-zergling? :( Was better in the original way (masses of little lings that did NOT just blow up)

I think we don't need to compare Z to other games, espessialy on Z fan forum. Z is special game for all of us but for other people it is just an ordinary game, like others. Every game has its own fan teams.

As for me, I think I am true fan of Z, I play it for 11 years near every week, but I also look at other great games, like Starcraft, DawnofWar, COH and C&C3. I also like racing like Flatout2 and action (Unreal Tournament, BattleField). So I think I am not a "fanatic" :)

I even read 3 books about StarCraft and I can?t wait for the story to be continued.

well apparently they didn't make it.
hope the terrain campaign will be released at the end of this year, but won't be sad if they decide to wait even longer.
btw i think releasing single campaigns stepbystep isn't a bad thing, i really confide in blizzard games' quality.
